Miss Emma started dancing at the age of 4 & trained under the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD), of which she is now a member. She has trained in the areas of jazz, tap, acrobatics, classical ballet & hip hop and has performed in various competitions, conventions, examinations and concerts in Perth.
Emma has been fortunate enough to perform professionally in Perth for many years including performances at Western Reds, Perth Glory, The Sandover Medal (WAFL), Perth Royal Show, Telethon, Local Perth Nightclubs, Perth Christmas Pagent and Warner Bros Entertainment as Daffy Duck.
Emma began her teaching career at the age of 14 and since then has choreographed many routines for dancing competitions, concerts and floorshows. After teaching for many dancing schools Emma decided to follow her passion and open her own studio, Busta Move.
Before opening the studio Emma was a dance specialist at Warwick Senior High Schools and a Fitness Instructor for a Dance and Movement programme (Happy Feet) in Perth Childcare Centres. For 9 years she choreographed many routines for the Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER), assemblies and end of year concerts. She also worked as an Education Assistant for 5 years where she created and taught a dance programme for Mt Hawthorn Junior Primary School.
In 2012 Emma took a small group of students and performed alongside them in London and Paris. She participated in workshops at Pineapple Studios and performed at various locations. The organisers at Disneyland Paris said their performance was one of the best they had seen and the Disney staff commented on how professional all the Busta Move students were.
In 2020 Emma will take a group of students to perform at Walt Disney World & Universal Studios in Florida. They will then attend multiple workshops in New York. These workshops allow Emma to keep up to date with all the latest dance trends to teach her students.
When opening Busta Move, Emma's vision for the school was to create an environment in which children can be themselves. Somewhere they can leave their troubles at the door and lose themselves in the wonder that is dance. In the 11 years the school has been open this is exactly what has been achieved and with the constant guidance and support from Miss Emma and the staff, all students at Busta Move are inspired to reach for their dreams.
